6 tips to improve productivity in and out of office

Everybody craves for the feeling of a sense of accomplishment by doing more in less time as each day comes to an end. We all have the same amount of time in the day, but making the most of your time is something that will make us stand apart. There are two ways to increase your output--either put in more hours or work smarter. If you ask me, I would prefer the latter.

Here are some tips to stay smart and become the most productive person in your field!

No matter how tight your schedule looks, this is TIME WELL SPENT!Start to imagine yourself as the most productive person in your field.

1.Sleep-A good day starts before you even get to work. Take care to get enough sleep. With work and domestic responsibilities, many of us already feel there aren’t enough hours in the day. Try preparing your breakfast before you go to sleep so you don’t have to worry about it in the morning. There are always ways to get some more sleep.Take a nap when you feel the need for it.

2.Arrive early- This will save your time by beating traffic and getting to your most important tasks right away. Sitting in traffic will do nothing but frustrate you and set a negative tone for the rest of your day.

Plan each day the night before- This is a total game changer. If you spend just 15 minutes before you go to bed the night before creating your to-do list and prioritizing it, you will have a head start on your next day in the morning.

3.Prioritize, prioritize, prioritize- stop overestimating yourself and do what is urgent and important. Delay other things and set a time limit to them too. Consider your prime time- morning? Evening? Late night? Everybody has got a prime time, that is, when they are most productive. Concentrate on the more challenging tasks when you are at your best.

4.Take a break- Studies prove that short breaks improve concentration and productivity. Take time each day to reflect. Movement also decreases stress levels. Take a short walk at lunch to maximize your productivity. Consider it as your mid-day exercise.

5.Avoid distractions- The piles of paper around your desk can be a huge barrier on your productivity. Use your free time to kill that clutter. When it’s time to work, work! Put the phone away while doing important tasks.Even brief interruptions appear to produce a change in work pattern and a corresponding drop in productivity. Minimizing interruptions may mean setting office hours, keeping your door closed, or putting a DO NOT DISTURB sign.

6.Celebrate your success- Celebrate the achievement of your goals to maintain a healthy balance in life between work and play. Reward yourself when you complete a task or finish a project. Reward the efforts of all involved. Celebration is a vital part of all project management. No matter how tight your schedule looks, this is TIME WELL SPENT!Start to imagine yourself as the most productive person in your field. How does it feel? Try to compete with yourself.
